Thank you - I tried it out on another computer (office 2010, win7, latest zotero), and the problem occurred again; maybe it is an issue with office 2010. I'll try and upgrade office.

yes, and a couple of automatic backups, along with the folders locate, storage, styles, translators and one for my own zotero.sqlite backups (I failed to create one before repairing firefox - would that have helped?)

thanks, but sorry, I did try that, too, and got the message 'you should move your data from your zotero data folder to the new place, and then restart firefox' - I am not sure what to do ...

I'd also greatly appreciate having unique item identifiers - preferrably serial numbers - available for quick handling of items in various environments, e.g. handwritten (!) notes.

I'd be very interested in a possibly easier solution to this problem (having used endnote previously where citations entered into a document are automatically collected in a separate "group"/collection)

Using word 2010 and the required plugin, items entered into a text while shift/drag and drop do not appear as fields and thus cannot be used to create a bibliography - why not?

I am enthusiastic about the feature to have collections highlighted containing the selected item - but I was disappointed to realize that it does not work with saved searches - or did I miss something there?
